first tri -- April 26

Ok -- well, the swim was awful. Had a panic attack in the water and stripped off my wetsuit at the first turn (gave to a guy in a canoe). 600 yards in lake. Not a bad swim in the pool - pretty easy. But in a lake with a bunch of people swimming at the same time it was like being in a washing machine. No fun. Bad time. Next experience will hopefully be better.

Here I go out for my bike ride -- just glad to be out of the water.

And, now at the end of my bike ride. Bike leg was 11.3 miles. Smiling now b/c bike leg is over. :) Bike leg was actually much better than I thought it would be. Didn't really "push push" because not familiar with course and didn't know what to expect.

Run was not bad at all. 3.1 miles (5K). This is at end - when everyone is screaming and cheering you on. All in all it was a good experience.

Father - Daughter Date Night!

Todd and Kate had a Girl Scout event tonight where they both got to get dressed up and go out. From what I gathered the highlight of the evening was the chocolate fountain (some of which came home on Kate's dress).

Oh my -- she's gonna be a "big girl"

Yes, our cute adorable puppy continues to grow. At her last shots appointment Mia weighed in at a whopping 36 lbs. She's four months old now (born 12/26/07) - the vet indicated that she may be tapering off on growth soon but there is no way of telling.

Tagged

I read Jodi Brinkley's post and as a "Cedar Grove girl" I guess I'm tagged .

Here are the rules:
1. When tagged, place the name of the person and URL on your blog
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Write 7 things about yourself
4. Tag someone else

7 Things About Me:

1. In college I never EVER thought I would get married (or even wanted to) much less even considered having kids -- now I can't imagine life without Todd and kiddos
2. I went to speech therapy from 4th grade - 8th b/c I couldn't pronounce R properly (raised by yankees ;))
3. I have read and enjoyed all of the Harry Potter books.
4. I only watch romatic comedies or movies made for 13 year old girls. On the rare occasion I will watch an action movie or drama - but never ever EVER a horror movie.
5. The theme song to "The Right Stuff" (yes, the astronaut movie) will bring me to tears.
6. I was a cheerleader in highschool - but I have no rhythm so I had to fake the clap/stomp chants.
7. My goal is to do a 1/2 IM in 2009.

I tag my family and the Sims family (yes -- all four of you!)

Easter!

Kate and Dean - egg finders extraordinaire
We had a huge turn out and I think everyone had a blast!

Sunday turned out a bit cooler than Saturday had been. Still - it was a great Easter.

Dean of course would rather play than pose for pictures.

Aunt Jana, Dean, Kate and Uncle Gary.

One big happy family.

Cedar Grove Runners take on 5k

Yes - those of us that made it out and braved the weather (which turned out to be beautiful) ran a 5k in PTC this morning. All four of us (from left: Romeo and Jodi Brinkley, ME, and my Sista - aka: Jana Kato) performed at and above our expectations and goals. Not a bad morning.

Hanging Out - Thursday 3/13/08

Nothing particularly "happening" - just a few shots of the kiddos playing after a long day.

Could never quite get Mia and Dean to both look at me. She is getting quite big - quite fast. We (or atleast Dean and I) love having her. Our evening ritual after work / school has been to take her on a walk in the neighborhood behind our house. Wears out two in one.

All boy - doesn't know the meaning of the word "can't"

all girl. Note the pink shoes, shirt and ball. "I think I broke a nail"

Kate and her friends, our neighbors: Tori and Taylor.
